Whole-house moves handled start to finish: every piece padded and wrapped, carried down third-floor walk-ups in the Gulf Coast heat, then set back in place room by room.
Week in, week out, Space City Movers relocates families out of inner-Loop bungalows, Midtown townhomes, Sugar Land single-families, and new-builds in Katy and Cypress. A pinched bungalow entry, a lengthy suburban driveway, or a climb to a third-floor unit — all routine for our movers, and the whole job is fixed at a flat rate settled in advance.
What a Home Move Looks Like
Movers arrive in uniform, the truck stocked ahead of time with every carton, pad, and roll of tape the job calls for
Closet clothes travel upright and crease-free inside tall wardrobe cartons
We take apart beds, cribs, and dining tables for transit, then reassemble them once they’re inside
Choose two movers at $139/hr, three at $199/hr, or a single flat price for the whole home
Questions, answered
Can I pack a few rooms myself and leave everything else to the crew?
For sure — pack whatever you'd like and let our crew take the remainder, or simply turn the entire house over to us. You draw the line wherever it suits you.
Do you take on vintage houses with pier-and-beam crawlspaces and rear staircases?
All the time. Older inner-Loop bungalows and two-story homes bring steep staircases and narrow doorways with them, and getting through those is baked into the flat rate.
Once we're in, do you reassemble the furniture and bed frames?
Always. Whatever comes apart for transit is reassembled and set exactly where you want it once we're inside the new place.
How many movers for a house my size?
Reggie matches the crew to your home — two movers at $139 an hour when the place is smaller, three at $199 if there's heavier lifting, or one flat price for the entire house.
Can your crew handle a home on a cramped inner-Loop block?
Absolutely. Missing driveways, skinny side lanes, and curbside-only parking come with the territory around here, and all of that is built into the flat rate before we ever start.
If a family heirloom gets damaged, how's it covered?
Delicate items get additional padding, and every job includes released value at 60 cents per pound. For something irreplaceable, you can layer on full-value protection so it's covered for what it would actually cost to replace.

One flat rate on every job around Houston and Harris County, whether it's a Heights bungalow, a Midtown high-rise, or a Katy new-build - and you see that number before we lift a thing.
The crew that loads you in Houston is the crew that unloads you at the far end, on one binding written price - out 290 to Austin or up I-45 to Dallas, no swapped trucks, no re-weigh.
Whole-house moves handled start to finish: every piece padded and wrapped, carried down third-floor walk-ups in the Gulf Coast heat, then set back in place room by room.
High-rise towers downtown, fourplexes in Montrose, condos by the Medical Center - we file the certificate of insurance with building management and book the freight elevator before move-day.
Give us a day of lead time and the crew boxes the whole house in our own cartons and paper - kitchen, closets, garage, attic - so all that's left on the day is walking it to the truck.
When the sale and the move-in refuse to line up, park your household with us: a clean, climate-held space you rent by the week, with no long commitment and no surprise line items.
A padded piano board, proper straps, and stair rollers carry your upright, spinet, or baby grand safely - whether it's threading out of a downtown freight elevator or easing down a narrow Montrose staircase.
Already booked the rental truck, trailer, or pod and just need strong backs? Our crew stacks and braces every piece so nothing shifts once you hit I-10 or the Beltway.
Downsizing after decades in one home takes a gentle pace - we sort and pad what matters, move on your schedule, and get the new place set up and livable before we head out.
Offices, storefronts, and Energy Corridor suites moved evenings or weekends so you never lose a business day - every item inventoried and dropped where your new floor plan calls for it.
Life doesn't always give notice - a bumped closing, a lease that ends Friday. We keep same-day and next-day slots in reserve and send our own Space City crew, not a subcontractor scrambled at the last minute.
Gun safe, slate pool table, commercial-grade treadmill, or heavy shop equipment - we bring the boards, straps, and stair gear to walk it out clean, even down tight bungalow steps.
Tell us what is on the move and a written figure lands back with you fast — no in-home survey to book, no pushy sales call, and not a dollar added once the day comes.
The pre-move call
In the last few days before move-day, your dispatcher phones to run through timing, the two addresses, and anything tight about the access — so the crew turns up already briefed on the stairs, the piano, and where the truck should sit.
Load day
Before a single item moves, your crew chief walks each room, rolls out runners across the floors and doorways, wraps everything up, then loads the truck in the order it will come off at the far end.
Into the new place
Every carton goes straight to its room, whatever we took apart gets rebuilt, and if you’d rather not deal with the empties, they ride out with us.
One last walk-through
We circle the place with you one more time to make sure everything landed where you wanted it, and the figure on the paperwork is the figure you settle — nothing more. Welcome home.
